Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Mary Smith. I am a Navy wife of 20 years and a fifth year Serra NJROTC parent. The Serra NJROTC Booster Club began 4 years ago with just three parents. I have seen our booster club grow over the past four years and I am proud to have been selected as President for the next two years to help it grow even larger. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this program and the fine young men and women who have chosen to be a part of such a positive and rewarding organization. I hope that you will check us out and see what we do. We have a lot of fun while helping the cadets.
             
We are fortunate to have a very dedicated group of parents on our Executive Board:

Together with this governing board, our fellow NJROTC parents provide much needed support to our cadets throughout the school year. On average, the cost of supporting a cadet through each school year averages about $950.00. As with all booster clubs we must hold fund raising events to support the financial needs of this valuable program. The Booster Club also provides other services to our cadets such as;
               
  • Assisting with transportation needs: i.e. carpooling
  • Providing nutritional snack and meals for the cadets during competitions and events
  • Assist with community service project and events
  
  • Donate your time on the board or helping with fund raisers
  • Chaperone cadet activities
  • Assist the cadre and cadets at competitions and events
  • Have fun while volunteering

To make the Serra NJROTC Booster Club a cohesive membership of supporters whose goals are to enhance the Serra High School NJROTC program, not only for the Cadets who will participate this season, but for the good of those cadets yet to enter the program.
               
We strongly encourage parents to attend the Booster Club meetings and to stay informed of club issues in order to help the cadets in the program. It is essential for parents to be present, to vote on vital issues and to give feedback and offer suggestions. Parent participation is very vital to ensure a successful program for all the cadets.
